SANDI YOUR PRESIDENT EST.09/2001
Beer and Wine Tasting fundraiser at The Stansbury Home
Pug Sunday in Chico, a charitable organization established for the prevention of cruelty to animals and recognized as an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is teaming up with Chico Cork Company in a fundraising effort. Your business can help us continue to provide education to current and potential pug owners through ongoing monthly meetings held on the first Sunday of each month at 1 PM, at Hooker Oak Park. Your participation will also provide support for fostering and adopting unwanted, stray and abandoned pugs into loving homes. All that is required is to save the corks removed from wine and champagne bottles.
For every pound of natural cork collected, $1 will be paid by Chico Cork Company to our organization to be used in the gardening and landscaping products that they will produce from the cork. Artificial (plastic) cork will be collected for the developing of methods to recycle/reuse them and to divert them from local landfills. Reimbursement will begin once a viable means of recycling artificial corks is identified.
Containers for cork collection will be provided by Chico Cork Company. A representative of said company or Pug Sunday in Chico will collect the cork on a weekly or as needed basis. We will work with you to determine the best way for your unique business to collect the used corks.
Please join with us in making our community and environment a little better for everyone. We look forward to working with you on this wonderful new endeavor. If we have not spoken to you in person, we will contact you in the near future. If you have any further questions or concerns, or you would like to begin collecting corks immediately, please contact us at one of the number below.
